Fear No Art! Hands-on Art Workshop to Address What Gets in the Way of Learning

Speaker: Rochelle (Shelley) Bloom, MA, LMFT, ATR-BC 

FEAR NO ART! This is a fun, user-friendly, hands-on workshop which will provide art therapy interventions to address the things that are getting in the way of learning. There will be specific creative techniques demonstrated that address difficulties with emotional regulation, focus, attention, perfectionism, and dissociation, all adapted to the learning environment with virtually all populations. The neuroscience underlying these approaches will be explored with an emphasis on how creativity promotes neural integration opening up the channels for learning. Come discover how to enliven your practice with art and provide new and unique ways to help your clients and enrich your professional capacity.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose of art therapy interventions
  • Describe the neuroscience of art therapy interventions
  • Demonstrate ways to use art therapy interventions
  • Explain the way art interventions can be used as an assessment tool
  • Integrate art activities in a new way
  • Assess the effects of art interventions
